Coach, leader, and builder of containers that hold people.
My work weaves together liberatory leadership, storytelling, and inclusive systems design. I work with individuals, teams, and organizations ready to build something that holds people rather than extracts from them.
The thread through everything I've built: relationships are infrastructure.
auburn rutledge (she/they) is a creative people leader, program designer, and coach whose work weaves together frameworks of liberatory leadership, storytelling, and inclusive systems design. She believes that how we build our organizations and communities must critically begin with a focus on belonging, and she brings that conviction to every room where she leads, facilitates, or participates.
With more than twelve years of experience building inclusive, high-performing teams and designing human-centered programs and operational frameworks, auburn pairs her strategic background with the ongoing study of imagination, leadership, and human-centered culture change. She received an MA in Creative Leadership from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design in 2025, and is currently pursuing an MS in Creativity & Change Leadership from SUNY Buffalo alongside her International Coaching Federation certification through Lumia Coaching's ICF-accredited Level 2 program.
What gets called visionary is often just what happens when infrastructure finally holds people instead of extracting from them. Auburn's practice centers that conviction: she brings rigorous systems thinking, emergent strategy, and a worldbuilding orientation to every engagement, whether that's a one-on-one coaching relationship or an organizational transformation effort.
As a queer, Black, mixed, and AuDHD person, she brings perspectives from the margin that consistently generate new ways of solving old problems. These perspectives don't sit alongside her work. They are the foundation of it.
